Been frustrated by enemies slipping beyond the reaches of ARC Raiders’ maps? Good news – a new patch (update 1.12.0) looks to fix that issue.
There’s a lot of focus on cheaters in ARC Raiders, because we can’t have a great multiplayer game without someone ruining it these days, but today’s new patch has some super short patch notes that will make for very happy reading.
Here are the full ARC Raiders 1.12.0 patch notes.
ARC Raiders patch takes aim at cheaters and exploits
As per the team at Embark, the January update 1.12.0 includes the following:
- Fixed an item duplication exploit.
- Fixed an ammo duplication exploit.
- Fixed some cases where players were able to damage others from behind geometry.
- Fixed various out of bounds map locations on Stella Montis.
If you’ve not ventured out into the wilds recently, you may have missed that players have been able to get to a position where they can gun down rival raiders without the risk of being hit. In an extraction shooter that’s all about risk versus reward, that’s a major issue, although Embark’s patch notes don’t mention retrospective punishments for anyone abusing the exploit.
Speaking of exploits, you won’t be able to dupe ammo or items now, since that’s been fixed. Embark says you’ll need to restart your client to download the patch.
ARC Raiders has gone from strength to strength since launch, opening up the new Stella Montis via a community objective, but as with any multiplayer game, there are a few bad apples out there trying to ruin everyone else’s fun.
Here’s hoping this patch works as intended, so we can get back to the Rust Belt in (relative) safety. It’s not as fun as doors setting people on fire, though.
