ARC Raiders has been hitting huge player counts, but the work of a developer in the multiplayer shooter is never done – and Embark Studios’ new update, North Line, marks the first major update for its title since launch.
North Line introduces the new Stella Montis map, as well as two new ARC robots to contend with, while there are bug fixes abound, too. Here’s all you need to know about update 1.2.0.
ARC Raiders players can enjoy a new map and a Community Unlock Event from today
Players are being asked to cough up Metal Parts, Fabric, Chemicals, Rubber Parts and Plastic Parts in an effort to restore the tunnels under Speranza. Doing so will (eventually) unlock Stella Montis, the game’s latest map.
Donations earn players merits, too, an event currency which will “fuel the next phase of progression”, part of the game’s ‘Phase II’ – Staking Our Claim, which includes a fresh progression track with rewards and challenges which will run until December.
New ARC enemies include the Matriarch, which Embark says makes the formidable Queen look friendly, while the Shredder will first appear in Stella Montis.
Other balance tweaks include XP changes for looting and damaging ARC enemies, while some achievements are also being fixed. You can find the full patch notes for North Line on Embark’s site.
Another patch this week updated the Duo queue to prioritize two-player squads, while also making changes to the game’s store pricing, as Embark continues to fine-tune the shooter.
The game’s December update, Cold Snap, will introduce the Flickering Flames event and Expedition Project Raider Reset. For more on ARC Raiders, be sure to check out our full review.
