Supergiant Games, the developers behind the hit indie roguelike series Hades, has announced that the full release date for Hades 2 is September 25th. While shy on details, it did announce that the game will launch on the Switch 2 at the exact same time, as part of its console timed exclusive deal.
One integral release date feature is that both PC players and Switch 2 players can share their saves. In the announcement post, Supergiant Games states that Hades 2 also offers cross-saves between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions, as well as the Steam edition.
If you’ve been playing in Early Access and wish to continue the journey on Nintendo’s game consoles, you’ll be able to transfer your save data through a simple in-game menu.
Outside of that, the details on the full release changes are sparse. The announcement did come with a new trailer for the game, too, featuring insight into the story. The demo over at the Nintendo Direct showcase also mentioned feature support for the game, with Switch 2 players getting 120fps in TV Mode on Nintendo Switch 2, or 60fps on Nintendo Switch.
Switch 1 players can also get a free upgrade to the Switch 2 version. If you’re still on the original Switch, know that when you get a Switch 2, you’ll have cross-gen support with your purchase.
For those who like collecting, Hades 2 will get a physical edition, albeit releasing later on November 20th. Pre-orders for the digital game should be live later today, as per the many mentions from the Nintendo Direct.
There’s also no word on the game coming to PlayStation or Xbox consoles just yet. For now, you’re probably locked in Styx waiting for the Ferryman to come and deliver you to the game.
For other actual release date features, you’ll likely have to wait for future updates from the devs about what is coming with 1.0.
