Python Commandos is making gamers forget why they were mad at Helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 is getting its next premium Warbond on December 2, bringing new weapons, armor sets, and everything else you need to stomp some bugs. The Python Commandos Warbond seems inspired by the chaos and destruction of 1980s action films.

“Helldivers, high-ranking officials in the Ministry of Defense have accused you of being the best,” the update reads. “And if you’re the best, then you’re going to need to be outfitted with the best, which is why the Ministry has fast-tracked the deployment of the Python Commandos Premium Warbond –arriving to your Super Destroyers on December 2!”

Python Commandos brings the Hot Dog

Alright, check it out. Developers – I mean, the Ministry of Defense – received thousands of requests for a minigun and it’s now here in the form of the M-1000 Maxigun. It’s a belt-fed weapon with massive ammo capacity. The AR/GL-21 One-Two is another heavy weapon, which combines an assault rifle with a grenade launcher.

But there’s also a new drone: the AX/FLAM-75 “Guard Dog” Hot Dog. It’s a drone with a flamethrower! You can basically burn down bugs with a wall of flames before calling the drone back for a refuel.

If you’re more into melee, there’s now a machete: the CQC-9 Defoliation Tool.

Two new armor sets are also on the way: the RS-20 Constrictor light armor set to “intimidate the enemy” with “rippling biceps” and the RS-40 Best of Prey, a heavy armor set that’s inspired by Ronald Mambo’s “burly physique.” Both armors will be equipped with the Rock Solid passive, making your Helldiver more steadfast against incoming staggering and ragdolling attacks.

Then there’s the capes, the Foe Rent Asunder and the Mark of the Constrictor.

Python Commandos also comes with a new emote, the Front-Leaning Rest Position.

Of course, there’s no mention of squashing bugs of the computer kind. Still, the update seems badass enough to have distracted gamers from any previous frustrations.
