Pikmin Bloom, the app by Niantic in partnership with Nintendo, is playing into the February love as it launches a full chocolate-themed program.
The mobile game is one which works in a similar fashion to Pokemon Go (which is also under the Niantic name, in collaboration with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company) as players are required to get outside. The more people walk, the more seedlings and fruit they’ll find, with the map then able to be filled with colorful blossoms planted by the player, as well as others located nearby.
Now, the 2026 Chocolate Decor Pikmin will make its debut, along with last year’s return to the game too. “Set out on your walks with chocolate-loving Pikmin and discover all the sweetness this season has to offer,” the announcement states.
Pikmin Bloom is created by the same people behind Pokemon Go
When an Event Challenge mission is cleared, players can obtain in-app rewards at random. These can range from Gift Bows, seedlings that grow into the Chocolate Decor Pikmin, flower petals, or other items. And when the Big Flower at the center of the stage blooms, players are guaranteed to receive a Gold Seedling on top of the random rewards.
At the start of the event, there will be missions to collect Gift Bows. When these are cleared, seedlings can be obtained. Nintendo also say that during the event, players may encounter Colorful Mushrooms.
When these are destroyed, Mystery Boxes can be received with these containing a variety of items. “2026 Chocolate, Chocolate, Lunar New Year Ornament: Red and Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold Decor Pikmin are the strongest against these mushrooms, so be sure to send them out to destroy them!”
The game hasn’t forgotten about Lunar New Year either as this ornament decor Pikmin will return. From February 4 – 28, there could be the option to receive seedlines for the Lunar New Year Ornament: Gold Decor Pikmin as an extra reward from Mystery Boxes when the Colorful Mushrooms are destroyed.
