When Bloober Team announced that it was working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, many fans of the franchise were hesitant – it’s hard to improve upon a legendary title, after all. Bloober’s remake went down a treat with fans, though, cementing the studio as a big name in horror.

It’s been revealed that Bloober Team is working on a remake of the original Silent Hill. Information is limited at the time of writing, but below, you’ll find everything known about the Silent Hill remake. We’ll update this article as more becomes available.

The Escapist recaps

  • A Silent Hill remake is in the works, courtesy of Bloober Team. The studio impressed the horror community with its Silent Hill 2 remake, so excitement around this news is already growing, despite the limited information.
  • The Silent Hill 2 remake released on October 8, 2024, so it’s unlikely that we’ll see a Silent Hill remake release date or window any time soon.
  • Not much is known about the Silent Hill remake platforms or prices yet at the time of writing – we’re theorizing that it’ll be roughly $70 and should be available on PC and current-gen consoles, but this is speculation based on Bloober’s previous releases.
  • In the downtime between releases, we’d highly recommend playing the Silent Hill 2 remake and original Silent Hill games in preparation for this upcoming remake.

When could the Silent Hill remake be released?

At the time of writing, a Silent Hill remake release date is not known. All that’s been revealed is that the game is being worked on by a dedicated team, as confirmed by a Bloober Team investor’s call on September 30, 2025.

Seeing as it’s been less than a year since the Silent Hill 2 remake came out, it’s unlikely that we’ll see a release date for the Silent Hill remake any time soon. This guide will be updated as soon as a release date becomes available, so make sure to check back.

Has a Silent Hill remake price been confirmed yet?

No, there have been no details confirmed by Bloober Team about a Silent Hill remake price yet. The Silent Hill 2 remake was $70 across platforms, so it’s likely that the new remake will be roughly in this price range, but this is speculation on our part.

As information is so limited about the upcoming release, there have been no details confirmed about the Silent Hill remake pre-orders yet.

Expected Silent Hill remake platforms

The Silent Hill remake platforms have not been confirmed yet – we’ll update once more information becomes known.

Based on the Silent Hill 2 remake and Bloober Team’s most recent game, Cronos: The New Dawn, it’s likely that the new remake will be available on PC and PlayStation 5 at the very least. This is speculation, though.

Silent Hill remake trailer analysis

The only Silent Hill remake trailer that’s been shown off at the time of writing is the announcement trailer from Bloober Team, posted on the official Bloober YouTube channel on June 12, 2025.

This trailer doesn’t show off any Silent Hill remake gameplay; instead, it’s a short and sweet announcement that the remake is officially in progress, with KONAMI and Bloober Team working together on the project.

Should you play the other Silent Hill games before the remake?

With the Silent Hill remake news picking up steam in the horror community, chances are that some fans are wondering whether they should play the Silent Hill 2 remake in the downtime between releases – or if they should track down the other games.

The Silent Hill 2 remake is inarguably worth playing before the new remake hits, as are the original Silent Hill games. While the older games may be a little harder to track down, they’re stellar examples of survival-psychological horror and are well worth the effort.
