Fall Guys on Nintendo Switch and Xbox Delayed to Add More Features

Fall Guys on Nintendo Switch and Xbox has been delayed. Originally due to launch summer of this year, developer Mediatonic announced the decision to delay the two versions of its chaotic multiplayer game on its website. The extra time is being used to include new features, such as cross-play, when the game arrives on Nintendo and Microsoft’s respective platforms. Mediatonic has not announced an updated launch window following the delay.

“With so many new opportunities now in our hands, we’ve realised that our previously announced Summer 2021 Switch and Xbox release schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we’re working on,” Mediatonic said in a statement.

“While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience. This delay gives our team some time to add features like crossplay, so when we add new platforms, players will be able to stumble in harmony with their pals, regardless of their platform of choice.”

The post goes on to outline Mediatonic’s future with Fall Guys. While the Switch and Xbox versions are delayed for now, the plan is to move forward with additional Fall Guys seasonal releases containing new Shows, Costumes, and Rounds. The studio is currently in the midst of its fourth season of content.

Fall Guys exploded onto the scene when it came to PC and PlayStation 4 last year. Last month, Epic Games announced that it had purchased Mediatonic.
