One of the most anticipated elements of the Where Winds Meet January Roadmap is the introduction of Kaifeng’s final story volume: Gambit Beneath the Shimmer. This chapter will conclude the storyline set up through previous mainline quests, and players will face the challenge of the boss Supreme Freedom. This is described as the most difficult battle in the game.

To access Beneath the Shimmer, players must complete Kaifeng Jianghu Legacy: Volume II: Shadows in Bloom, Kaifeng Main Chapter: Furnace of Heaven and Earth, and have 6000 Kaifeng exploration points. After this, the new content will unlock. Completing it will unlock “Campaign: Supreme Freedom,” which can be replayed to have a chance of obtaining rare decorations. There is no current information on when the next large story expansion will be introduced, but it seems likely that new content could come before the start of spring.

Guild Battle: Preseason Event Information

Where Winds Meet players looking for an exciting way to enjoy multiplayer are in for a treat with the Preseason Guild Battle event. From January 9 through January 16, 2026, players can prep for the event, joining guilds and learning skills for the active competition that will take place from January 17 to February 6, 2026.

To participate, you will need to reach Guild Level 3 and have 3000 Guild Prosperity. The goal of this event is to take time prepping through recruiting, planning, and skill training to gain the upper hand in the battles during the competition phase of the event. Only the best of the best will come out triumphant.

Those who win will earn Guild Reputation, Wonder Jade, and Treasure Tokens, as well as a final selection of rewards for the winners that will be awarded at the end of the event on February 6, 2026.

With so many exciting and challenging new things to do and complete in Where Winds Meet, the month will likely fly by for all who have taken on their Wuxia journey. Currently, there have been no updates on what to expect in February, but hopefully, more events and community opportunities will also be announced, allowing those who love multiplayer engagement the chance to team up and take on others in battles of skill and teamwork.
