When and How did you start playing Auto Assault?
I found AA just by looking around for a new MMO on web (Google Search FTM!), then I did the 14 days trial around the end of February 2007 if I remember well. But I played a lot since then (about 50 days online!)
How did you choose you Avatar’s name?
LOL. It’s an old story.
I’ve been playing since I was 15 years old on web. Started with FPS games like Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, and so was playing simply using my name Chris.
But when I achieved a good level here in Belgium and was invited to play in a tournament (LAN) with a clan, clannies told me I had to find another nickname. Chris was too normal, so being the funny guy, I took an ironic name compared to the “serialkillers, scorpions, leet” and other “killer” names I’ve seen around> so I chose Pouf le Chien. (Pouf the Dog)!
It was too funny to see a “pouf” exploding “uberleetkillers”.
That is my satyric side xD
When I came to AA, I chose Pouf as a trial name, thinking that wouldn’t be my main (it was a test char) and joined Road’s Eagles. But finally I was doing so well with my Champion and guildmates so used to call me Pouf, that I did not change it and kept on leveling this “test” character./p>
Why did you choose your main Faction & Class?
I chose Muties to join the French community in AA. (Road’s Eagles)
Do you play solo? Why did you join a clan?
– I play solo a lot because I’m online constantly and log off often solo lol.
I chose AA for it’s solo possibilities, as I was on EQII before and got really bored not being able to get involved correctly because of the time I spent soloing.
– The major French community was on Muties side, so I chose this faction to join Road’s Eagles thinking it would be easier for me to discover the game in my native language.(I was already looking for a clan in AA when I started)
Do you prefer PvE or PvP?
I enjoy what I achieved with my Champion. I can solo nearly everything and everyone (except full healers = neverending fights) so I should say PvP, but I will say both.
PvE in AA delivers much fun too, as I enjoy looting from a boss as much as killing another player in cGZ.
Do you craft? What is your favorite crafted item (yours or others)?
I craft Hazard Kits for our clan, but my favorite craft items come from Kristopher8 lol: Xeno Goo Dropper with Defense +10+8+6 & Deflection he had memorized. I bought a lot of them for the clan xD
What is your weapon of choice?
My BM turret. I was mostly using a defensive build because I wasn’t happy with my Offensive capabilities before getting it. But since I got the BM turret, I found a well balanced build for an efficient fighter.
I finally achieved the damage I expect without sacrificing too much Defense.
What is your favorite ride?
I mostly ride the Mozak Replica, as I recall the moment when I had a full convoy chasing me around cGZ for several minutes in it. xD
Now I use a Switter because I need its Off/Def properties for my current build, but I miss the punch and the top speed of the Mozak.
Which junk item do you refuse to get rid of?
I’m a junk collector lol.
I got an alt with only Devices and you can find on it some items like Copper(absolutely useless even in crafting), Alligrake nuggets, and even the Dead Putrid Rats Predator sent me.
I just keep these because its unusual drops or missions items.
What is your favorite NPC & location in AA?
Tocado Auction House xD
I enjoy doing business, looting, selling, buying, trading even if items or money don’t really interest me. When its not for me I do it for clannies or people I like. I like to do business in game, as I find it fun for me and cool for others to have a “living” AH that adds one more enjoyable activity to this game.
I always thought that a game where nothing is priced it’ll lose it’s worth, AA is a MMO and not just a simple “killThemAll”.
Who is your Arch-Nemesis in AA (Player or other)?
Individually, the only one that was really dangerous for me was Amazon (Bounty Hunter / alias Zorbas on Mutie side).
He can surprise well, fight cleverly, deal good damage, without losing his fairplay. I really enjoy fighting with him even if its harder against him xD
But I will add one thing, “Tyger, Arli, Replica & others” convoy was very efficient too. I have lots of admiration for the organization they showed us.
With Eagles, we were not efficient with Avengers or full healers.
We usually worked with teams involving Champions (badoun, kanadogg, me), mix build Shamans (madmike) and Archons (marasc, orcabella).
So I realized our objective was to have a complete convoy and organize ourselves like they did (full heal, furtive attack)
What is your favorite moment you’ve experienced in AA?
Of course I’ll say the last event. I found the idea of “kill boss tournament” really great.
And I will add the online quiz about sci-fi culture, was a great moment of fun too.
What song/genre you like to listen while playing AA?
Ram Jam – Black Betty (remixed)
The Rasmus – Guilty
Some other Rock bands like System of a Down,…
And sometimes Techno/Harcore like DJ Furax.
Even if it seems old, I still like “Punch” music xD
What current feature would you change in AA to make it better?
Making crafing more useful. (Exotic Armor/Devices/…)
Which new AA features would you like to see in the future?
Adding lvl 80 instances that requires 1 or 2 full convoys (harder than the Tower of course)
Adding a guild ranking system with guild fortresses would be fun.
