They’re not the strongest Bomber by any means, so you’ll need to ensure that your Chess Choco Cookie has the ideal set-up to help them thrive and deal plenty of damage. Here, you’ll find the best Chess Choco Cookie build in Cookie Run Kingdom, including the stats to focus on while building.

The Escapist recaps

  • Chess Choco Cookie makes up a unique part of the Cookie Run Kingdom Bomber roster, being made up of two Cookies, not one. Pawn White Cookie and Pawn Black Cookie are two separate characters, but treated as one.
  • Chess Choco Cookie is an Epic rarity Cookie, meaning newer players might not have seen them in their first gacha pulls, but more seasoned CRK lovers have likely got a few Soulstones in their collection already.
  • This Cookie is a Bomber that places in the Rear slot of a party. They’re not particularly tanky, but with cooldown management and some well-placed buffs, their Chess Time attack can help rip through bosses, especially when paired with meaningful support like Millennial Tree Cookie.
  • The best Toppings for Chess Choco Cookie are Swift Chocolate M Toppings, to help manage cooldown timings. If you have access to the Gambit Swift Chocolate M Toppings, these are even better.
  • To match the Swift Chocolate M Toppings, the best Topping Tart is a Swift Chocolate Topping Tart, accompanied by a Beascuit that prioritizes cooldown management and damage resistance.

Chess Choco Cookie is an Epic rarity Cookie, filling a Bomber Rear role in Cookie Run Kingdom. This Cookie isn’t the strongest Bomber in the game, but its Chess Time attack can be powerful if its cooldown is managed appropriately.

Chess Time creates a chessboard on the battlefield, with each Chess Choco Cookie beginning a match by summoning chess pieces and dealing damage to all enemies. This is how the attack works in order:

  • Pawn White Cookie’s White Rook applies a knock-back
  • Pawn Black Cookie’s Black Bishop sends them flying upwards
  • White Rook applies Rook’s Blessing to the team
  • Black Bishop hits the enemies with Bishop’s Judgement
  • The chessboard is destroyed, causing further damage to the enemies
  • The White Rook debuff is applied to the highest attack stat enemy
  • Finally, the Black Bishop debuff is also applied

If the two debuffs sync up and apply simultaneously, they will cause the Checkmate state. This hits enemies with a brief stun, then applies a significant damage debuff and chunk of damage to World Exploration Bosses.

Alternatively, it creates the same effect to a lesser extent when fighting non-World Exploration Bosses.

The most important thing for Chess Choco Cookie is a way to cut down Chess Time’s lengthy 14-second cooldown. This means that the best Chess Choco Cookie build is five Swift Chocolate M Toppings, paired with a Swift Chocolate Topping Tart.

While Resonant Toppings can be harder to come across as a newer player, it’s worth using the Gambit iterations of Swift Chocolate M Toppings if you have them.

In terms of Beascuits, looking for options that prioritize cooldown management and damage resistance, with attack boosts as a lesser priority.

Chess Choco Cookie will never be the heaviest hitter on a team – usually, it’ll be a Cookie like Red Velvet Cookie instead – but with cooldown management and damage resistance, you can keep them alive long enough to make use of the powerful, if admittedly complex Chess Time attack.
