Cards Against Humanity‘s Holiday Bullsh!# Puzzle Still Unsolved

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

In November, 100,000 people paid $12 to receive 12 gifts from Cards Against Humanity, and the gifts include a puzzle that has yet to be solved.

In November, Cards Against Humanity launched their 12 Days of Holiday Bullshit promotion, wherein 100,000 people paid $12 to receive 12 unknown gifts over 12 days. The promotion sold out in about seven hours. The gifts started delivery in early December, though postal delays mean that some people did not receive all twelve before Christmas. In tandem with the deliveries, Cards Against Humanity has been revealing incredible original videos, songs, and comics for each day of gifts.

On the first day of the promotion, Cards Against Humanity revealed that there was a puzzle hidden across the 12 gifts and included a hint in a cipher. As of today, no one has solved the puzzle, and Cards Against Humanity shared a few hints on Tumblr:

  • There really is a puzzle, the puzzle really has a solution, and there really is a prize for solving it.
  • If you solve the puzzle, you will know what to do to let us know.
  • The puzzle requires multiple steps, one leading to the next.
  • As far as we know, no one has figured out the first step.
  • The cipher on the first day is not the whole puzzle – that’s just a hint to help you on your way.
  • The reason we included the cipher is that we thought it would tell you what to focus on to crack the first step of the puzzle.

Fans are working together to solve the Holiday Bullshit puzzle on sites like Reddit. Cards Against Humanity co-creator Max Temkin assured Reddit, “We can split the prize up among however many people work together to solve it!”

Cards Against Humanity, the “party game for horrible people”, is currently sold out. The game should be back in stock in a few weeks, but until then you can (as always) print out and make your own copy of the game directly from the folks at Cards Against Humanity. While you’re there, check out their latest game about having a sex party, Clusterfuck. Just in time to liven up your New Year’s party.
