  • Looking at early previews for the two games, College Football 26 looks to be offering more variety and pure energy, while Madden NFL 26 will be delivering realism and NFL polish.

As previously mentioned, both of these games are built on the Frostbite engine, but that is nothing to go by; they both play very differently.

Madden NFL 26 gameplay focuses on brand new passion animations, enhanced Superstar mode and Franchise depth, smart AI defenders, and realistic NFL schemes and clock management.

Looking at College Football 26, it leans more towards a faster tempo overall, causing more chaos on the field, a revamped Dynasty Mode where players can recruit, scout, and school manage, and the addition of the “Home Field Advantage system. This uses crowd noise and school pride to rattle opponents. These College Football 26 new features are sure to impress new and old players.

The College Football 26 deep dive shows how it has returned to its roots, all while being able to balance modern technology with the college football culture.

Looking at the most recent releases, it appears that College Football is more popular than Madden NFL, which may be surprising to fans. Specifically, College Football 25 became the best-selling sports video game in US history, later being among the top 50 best-selling video games of all time (via Gamesindustry.biz).

That trajectory has continued for the recent College Football 26 release date, as the sequel has reportedly sold two million copies within its first week of availability, but is said to be lagging behind the explosive rise of its predecessor. Conversely, Madden NFL 25 sold just over a million copies in its first week, but we do not yet know how its sequel will sell at this time.

Make no mistake, both College Football and the Madden NFL games are incredibly popular in the US, and we’re expecting both titles to dominate the new releases section. It’s currently unknown whether the buzz around the former was due to such a long hiatus for the franchise, which was previously known as NCAA Football, and which was last seen in 2013.

Is CFB worth it?

With College Football 26’s new features like the enhanced crowds and their fully licensed FBS teams, this game is more than just a reboot. Also, with College Football 26 ratings bringing a new dynamic to player performance, players can experience competitive depth without the superstar names.

So, Dynasty Mode, Road to Glory, and the atmosphere alone are worth the price tag
