With the new update arriving along with the Spring Raid, it’s high time you perfected your Noob Defense loadout. While you might be tempted to just spam the strongest Noobs, in reality, it’s all about mixing and matching, as well as initiating an upgrade at just the right time. If you want to do all that, just tag along as I break down my full Noob Defense unit tier list and share my opinions.

Definite Noob Defense Unit Tier List

Keep in mind that I’m making this Noob Defense unit tier list with Evolutions in mind. To evolve your units, you just need to head over to the Evolution spot, right by the story chapters. In addition to having to have the unit you want to upgrade, you’re going to need additional mats to complete the evo. I’d even go so far as to say that you can run Soldier Noob, Fighter Noob and Katana Noob well into Level 9-10, since they’re strong on their own for the first 10-15 waves.
S Tier Noob Defense Units

Yes, I know the vanilla Noob seems out of place here, but there’s no better value unit in the entire game. Don’t get me wrong, I love the utility the Engineer Noob brings, and I can’t deny that Sakura Samurai Noob is the best, but you can’t go wrong with the base one.
Unit | Info |
---|---|
Sakura Samurai Noob | By far the best unit in the game, although it’s a bit hard to obtain compared to less advanced evolutions. |
Fallen Angel Noob | Not only is the range great, but the Fallen Angel has some bonkers DPS. A must-include in your loadout. |
King of the Empire Noob | Very expensive, but is probably the best ranged unit on this Noob Defense unit tier list, so it’s worth it. |
Upgrade Engineer Noob | IMO, the evolved version of the regular Engineer is the most well-rounded unit in the game, with no apparent weak points. |
Engineer Noob | It’s basically the same as the Upgrade Engineer Noob, but with weaker stats. Still versatile, though. |
Noob | For only $100, you can farm waves incessantly early in the game. Cheap to place and even cheaper to upgrade. |
A Tier Noob Defense Units

Both Angel units are, IMO, essential in every 5-unit loadout, due to their insane buffs. However, they’re not as versatile as the Sakura Samurai Noob or the Upgraded Engineer Noob. Both their DPS and utility are outstanding, so you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself if Lady Luck isn’t on your side in the beginning.
Unit | Info |
---|---|
Guardian Angel Noob | If you can put up with the lack of range, you’ll basically get the best support unit on this whole Noob Defense unit tier list. |
Fallen Devil Noob | First of all, how can a devil FALL? Lucifer was a fallen angel, right? Well, with how high a DPS this Noob has, you won’t mind. |
Devil Noob | I don’t like the lack of AoE, but like it’s evolved version, the Devil Noob is a killer when it comes to good ol’ DPS. |
Angel Noob | Great for buffing just like the Guardian. Likewise, I love the range and the consistent damage. |
Samurai Noob | One of the best melee units early in the game, but gets old pretty quick once you start Summoning more. |
Lifesaver Noob | Stellar support unit, but it scales pretty slowly and only becomes usable later on. |
B Tier Noob Defense Units

Most of the units here depend on their range, or in the case of Katana Noob, sheer DPS. However, once you upgrade them after a couple of waves, they’ll be impenetrable stalwarts standing between the enemies and your base.
Unit | Info |
---|---|
Hyper Laser Noob | By far the best range in the game. Now, if only it had slightly better DPS. |
Katana Noob | Despite the lack of range, I love the strong DPS and feasibility near the entrance of your Base. |
Laser Noob | Another early game option, the Laser Noob relies on range, but falls of when it comes to consistency. |
Mafia Boos Noob | Like other entries in this part of our Noob Defense unit tier list, the Mafia Booss is simply mid. Good range and DPS, but not outstanding. |
Gunslinger Noob | Just like the Soldier Noob, the Gunslinger is a great ranged option, but loses value later on. |
Soldier Noob | My favorite ranged unit early in the game. Although, I don’t like how expensive it is to upgrade and how low the unit limit really is. |
C Tier Noob Defense Units

I’m somewhat emotionally attacked to the Fighter Noob, but it, just like other units in this part of the tier, is mainly meant as a stop-gap until you earn enough money for more summons. Hence, I’d advise against trotting these units out after you complete the story and get enough practice in Infinity Mode.
Unit | Info |
---|---|
Pyromancer Noob | Great for support, but the lack of DPS is going to get you fried in more challenging raids, sadly. |
Assassin Noob | If you’re looking to experiment with single-target DPS units, then by all means—go ahead. Other than that, no thanks. |
Swordsman Noob | Basically a worse version of the Katana Noob is every way possible. Hard pass. |
Prototype Noob | Was only available if you played during beta. It was initially strong, but got nerfed hard. |
Fighter Noob | Early in the game, it basically melts the first 10-15 waves, especially if combined with Soldier Noobs. |
Sniper Noob | Decent support unit with great range, but absolutely trash at just about anything else. |
D Tier Noob Defense Units

Rich Noob is only great for farming, but I’m not pleased with his defense, reliability or damage. The same goes for the King Noob, as both units have a good idea behind them, but the execution isn’t even remotely there. I sure hope one of the next updates changes this.
Unit | Info |
---|---|
Rich Noob | Nice farming unit in the beginning, but unusable later on. |
King Noob | I was initially unsure of where to place the King Noob on this Noob Defense unit tier list, but it’s clear it needs a lot of work done before it becomes meta. |
Slammer Noob | Single-target DPS is NOT the meta right now, and since the Slammer Noob can only strike at short range, it’s basically useless. |
It took us a bit of time to get through the entire list of variants and evolution, but we’ve finally reached the end of this Noob Defense. Just take your time, use Infinity Mode to practice, and try to think about your unit placements before you stick them somewhere randomly. Until then, we have a boatload of other Roblox content for you to explore.
