Debut of Marge’s Little Lulu Volume One Kicks Off Comic Book Icon’s 70th Anniversary Celebration

COMIC-CON/SAN DIEGO, CA (July 19, 2004) –

Little Lulu, the original comic book heroine, is back! Dark Horse Comics is proud to present-for the first time ever-the complete run of classic Little Lulu comics in a reader-friendly series of affordable paperback volumes. Marge’s Little Lulu Volume One features the talents of John Stanley (writing) and Irving Tripp (art). Volume One arrives in-store on November 17 in anticipation of Little Lulu’s 70th anniversary in 2005. It will be available for $9.95 SRP.

Whether she’s outsmarting Tubby and his fellow Boys Only Club-members in the name of fairness and equality, weaving hilarious tall tales to entertain the irascible tot Alvin, or simply using her keen wit to think her way out of a million impossible situations, Little Lulu remains one of the most lovable comic book heroines ever. As fresh and funny today as they were decades ago, these classic comics will keep you laughing.

About Little Lulu

2005 marks the 70th anniversary of one of the most popular comic characters of all time, Little Lulu. Long before the days of pint-sized, chemically powered, super girl trios, Marjorie Henderson Buell created one very special little girl who earned generations of fans and helped make the world a better place using only her natural smarts, her big heart, and a healthy dose of sass. From her first appearances in The Saturday Evening Post in the mid-1930s through her current long-running daily cartoon show on HBO Family (celebrating its 10 years on air in 2005), Little Lulu has been a beloved cultural icon all over the world.
