Things get a little toasty in the next Gears of War.
At E3 2012 today, Microsoft showcased a teaser for the next Gears of War game, titled Gears of War: Judgment. The teaser featured Damon Baird, one of the characters from Delta Squad, in shackles amid images of Locusts and COG soldiers fighting in a burning city.
Details are sparse, but GoW: Judgement is being developed by Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly and will be set 15 years before the events of the first game. It sees series protagonists Damon Baird and his squad stand trial for treason during the early days of the COG army’s war against the Locusts, when the hostile invading species emerged from underground and did a fairly good job of torching most of civilization.
GoW: Judgement will also feature class-based multiplayer, a first for the series. There is currently no information on a planned release date for the game.
