Those who already own Metro Exodus on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are eligible to get the upgraded versions for free at no extra charge, whether physically on disc or digitally. Additionally, 4A recently brought Metro Exodus to Amazon’s game streaming service, Luna, and the studio is working on dedicated Linux and Mac versions of the game as well.

As part of Saber Interactive, 4A is now exploring the possibility of a multiplayer Metro experience. The Metro series has always been staunchly a single-player affair due to the studio’s small size, but Saber’s expertise in online gaming could allow the series to expand where it makes sense within the Metro universe. The studio is resolute about not just shoehorning multiplayer in for no clear reason, and it will not let multiplayer interrupt the single-player experience.

4A is hard at work on the next Metro game, being built for PC and the new generation of consoles with a complete engine and renderer overhaul to take advantage of the new hardware.

Metro Exodus was released in February 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Its final DLC expansion, Sam’s Story, launched in February this year.
