Mortal Kombat 11 will be receiving a brand new story expansion. NetherRealm Studios confirmed this morning via the Mortal Kombat Twitter that an official reveal and more details about the expansion will be shown tomorrow, May 6, at 6 a.m. PST/ 9 a.m. EST.
*Spoilers for Mortal Kombat 11 follow.*
The 40-second teaser shows Raiden and Liu Kang at the end of Mortal Kombat 11‘s campaign. Liu Kang is asked to create a new history for Earth, but the camera shifts away right before he does so. The teaser starts right where that left off, only to show Shang Tsung coming out of a portal suggesting that Liu Kang creating a new history will have dire consequences.
Mortal Kombat 11‘s first Kombat Pack recently wrapped up and released its final character, Spawn, back on March 17. Other characters included Joker from Batman, Sindel, Terminator T-800, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung.
Datamining the game has allegedly revealed that Ash Williams from Army of Darkness, Sheeva, and Fujin will be added to Mortal Kombat 11 in the future. Perhaps after the release of a story expansion, a second Kombat Pack will arrive sometime later this year. Or perhaps both will come simultaneously.
