Arc Raiders to get new playtest before launch, pre orders go live

Arc Raiders, the popular upcoming extraction shooter from former Battlefield developers, Embark Studios, announced a whole lot this Monday afternoon, with the main take being that Arc Raiders is getting a third and final playtest before launch, and the hotly requested pre-order is now live.

If you’re someone who missed the previous playtests you’ll be pleased to know you can quench your Arc Raiders thirst. Come October 17-19, players can partake in what the devs call a Server-Slam. The idea is to completely nuke the game and get a bit of playtime ahead of launch. Arc Raiders is looking like the second biggest launch of October for shooter fans, behind Battlefield 6, obviously. So, an extreme server stress test is very important for stability for the game come launch.

As for the content, the server slam brings you to the Dam Battlegrounds, where you’ll experience elements of progression and crafting while completing a set of quests to provide you with a little taste of the ARC Raiders experience, while saving some surprises for the full launch.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that this is an open stress test – no need for codes or beta invites from anyone. Simply download the game from your preferred platform, whether that’s Steam, Epic, PS5, or Xbox Store, and you’re good to go. If you play, you’ll get a server slam backpack reward. No progress carries over, mind you, but it’s worth jumping in to get a feel and a reward ready for its full launch on October 30.

As for pre-orders, they are now live. For us over in the UK, it’s £30.99 on Steam. So, expect similar prices for EU, USD, and console platform prices too. It’s relatively cheap for a high-profile game!

The devs have teased that more information is to come, so keep an eye on their Discord, socials, and other areas to follow the game as we move closer to October 17.
