ARC Raiders Server Slam: Embark Studios reveals what to expect from this weekend’s final test

Update: The ARC Raiders Discord is now stating that Server Slam will begin at 2 PM BST today (Friday), so get ready to jump in first to try and avoid any queues. We have included a handy table at the bottom of the page so you can find your appropriate time zone.

Embark Studios has announced more details of what to expect from the ARC Raiders Server Slam weekend. From October 17-19, players can get their hands on the early slice of the game, with the playtest mainly to prepare the game’s servers for the game’s full launch on October 30th.

In terms of what you’ll mainly get, you will play the Dam map. Dam Battlegrounds will allow players to explore flooded lowlands, dark forests, overgrown research centers, and misty swamps. This is the first map in the full game and one that players will learn either as a solo or group player.

While you’re on these missions, you can test out the mainstay features that players will engage in for full launch. These are

  • Feats: Daily rotating challenges (destroy ARC, extract with rare loot) that earn Cred. This will likely be part of your seasonal content missions for those who want to progression wipe.
  • Raider Decks: Use Cred to unlock rewards – one page available to test. The full game will have more to unlock as you progress, and others are premium purchases.
  • Crafting: Basic weapon, equipment, and medical stations are active, but no upgrades

These features will be in a limited capacity, but it’s a good slice of what the full game will be like with its early interactions from the server slam. It gives you some progression for creating new items, alongside testing out the daily replayability for progression and rewards. This will be part of the standard NPC and questing in Extraction games. You can complete quests from Speranza traders to earn rewards and build trust. Sell unwanted gear, buy what you need. You’ll get some early quests to play ahead of the full launch so you can progress with a bit more player knowledge. More advanced quests are not enabled for the Server Slam.

Those who get to play the game can also earn rewards ahead of launch.  If you play during the Server Slam and confirm your Embark ID, you’ll earn an exclusive backpack: The Server Slammer! If you get it, it will be yours come the full game’s launch.
