BF6 M87A1 Loadout – The shotgun is back in the beta

The shotgun in the Battlefield 6 beta is back, and it’s an absolute menace for both mid-range engagement and close-quarters action. When aimed well, the shotgun is a one-shot kill, even with some distance. It’s not quite the same monster it was in Battlefield 3, but the M87A1 beta loadout in BF6 is causing a ruckus nonetheless. Here’s a look at what players are running.

M87A1 Loadouts and Attachments

Just to mention, there are two key builds that players use, depending on class or map location. We’ll start with the slug variant.

Slug variant:

  • Optic: Any 10x or basic iron sights.
  • Ammunition: Slug
  • Magazine: 7 Shell Tube
  • Underbarrel: Ribbed Stubby
  • Barrel: 20″ Factory

This is a 95-point loadout, which gives you a slug playstyle. The idea is to give the gun the best recoil and accuracy control you can get. You want to use the slugs to essentially turn it into a DMR, and fire shells at range to one-hit at a distance, which is something snipers can’t even do. It makes it a very strong assault weapon to fire at mid-range engagement, especially if you’re running a more close-range Assault rifle. It’s a great option for Liberation Peak or the longer-range points on the Siege of Cairo map.

Buckshot Variant:

  • Optic: Iron Sight
  • Ammunition: Buckshot
  • Magazine: 7 Shell Tube
  • Underbarrel: Ribbed Stubby
  • Barrel: 20″ Factory
  • Muzzle: CQB Suppressor
  • Top: 5MW Green

The idea of this build primarily stems from using buckshot, tightening your hip-fire or ADS spread. The 5MW Green is a cheap top laser that makes hip-fire much more accurate. In addition, the Ribbed Stubby is a cheap yet very good mobility, accuracy, and recoil controlling attachment. The combo makes it easy to run-and-gun with the shotgun and do what you need to do with tight spread and amazing firepower. It’s perfect for flushing out the palace area of Cairo’s B site, for example, or playing on C on the Iberian Offensive, for example.

The benefit of both shotgun loadout types is that the shotgun is not class locked. Meaning it’s a menace for classes when they need the slug or CQB weapon. So, enjoy this incredibly good weapon regardless of class or mode!
