“We are getting closer and closer to the most important milestone in our four-year development journey – the release of The Blood of Dawnwalker, the first chapter of our original dark fantasy saga. On behalf of the entire Rebel Wolves studio, I would like to invite all players to the upcoming stream, during which you will not only get the start date of your adventure in Vale Sangora, but also see the gameplay changes we have implemented over the past months, with a particular focus on activities tied to the game’s open world,” says Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director of The Blood of Dawnwalker.

For those who missed out, the game is set in 14th-century Europe, where the Black Death tears the continent apart. Millions lie dead, and with the chaos comes the perfect time for the vampires to rise. We know the game is set around a character named Coen, a young man who is part vampire, part human. The character has a mission to save his family, who live in a region now ruled by a vampire lord.

The game features choice-heavy decision moments that affect the narrative. Considering it’s made by former Witcher 3 devs, expect there to be some big moments that affect key areas of the storyline. Whether that’s being with someone at various stages of the campaign, or some rather big ending differences depending on what you do.

Only time will tell what that stream will show us. Given the game is rather pretty, it might be a bit of a beast on modern hardware. We’ll also get to see some more open-world gameplay and see just how Witcher-like it is, or whether they come up with a new spin on the 40-second rule in the open-world genre.

We last got some brief news of the game from the New Game Plus Showcase, along with other tidbits on its socials, Steam community feed, etc. But it will likely be nothing compared to what is coming next Tuesday.
