Crimson Desert devs heard the remaining negatives and said, ‘we’ll fix them all’ in upcoming updates

Crimson Desert, while extremely popular with its daily active users despite being a single-player game, does also have its negatives.

So much so that Pearl Abyss is planning on adding new content changes to Crimson Desert, addressing the myriad of grievances that still remain.

The latest update talks about UI improvements, making speccing into Damiane and Oonka more interesting, alongside storage, boss replaying, difficulty settings, and other new items and unlocks too.

What Crimson Desert’s future updates will have

The new tweaks will come through April and June, with the developers gradually adding these features into the game.

The full list that will be implemented over the next few months include the following features:

  • Boss Rematch systems and re-blockaded areas so you can clear them out again.
  • Difficulty settings to officially add Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties. Players noted that the one difficulty was extremely easy and hard, depending on which patch and gear you have. So a customizable option should make things simpler.
  • New skills for Oonka and Damiane to make them more closely match Kliff’s. This is directly targeting complaints that Kliff has key moves for exploration that the other two don’t, meaning you’re mainly playing Kliff until you need to switch for the character story progress points.
  • Back weapon visibility for hiding back-mounted weapons.
  • Outfit updates for getting limited outfits, and some exclusive to limited sales or donations, should become equippable.
  • Specialized storage, which is ideal for putting cooking items together to make it easier to access and engage with the cooking feature. There’s also an armory and wardrobe for your items and clothing, gatherable storage for ores, herbs and things like that. Collection storage for quest items, recipes, and other things of that nature will also be available.
  • New pets and mounts are coming to the game with expanded equipment options.
  • UI, control, and distance settings to help make the UI more navigationally friendly, alongside further refined controller setups and configurable keys for mouse and keyboard players.

The Crimson Desert team said in the Dev Update notice: “We’ve been closely following players’ adventures, discussions, and feedback, while working to make Crimson Desert an even more enjoyable experience for everyone.”

The team added: “Watching everyone’s journeys unfold since launch has meant a great deal to us, and we’re truly grateful for your dedication and support.”

There’s no timeline for each of the features above. We just know they’ll drop over the next two months or so. Either way, it is great post-launch support.

Personally, my big quit moment was realising that I had a build I wanted to play for Damian, but it was straight up not designed for how the game wanted to play. So, naturally, I felt what was the point and my interest fell off fast.

The expanded inventory system is also an added touch since it thought the cooking and alchemy recipe discovery was a great idea. With these changes, it might be enough to get me immersed and thinking about builds again, which seems to be what Crimson Desert is all about.
