GTA Online opens official modding store that pays modders real money

There is now a modding market for GTA Online, with modders getting real cash for their custom maps, vehicles, activities, and more.

Rockstar Games’ Cfx Marketplace is a digital storefront with mods available from verified modders in the community. It was announced on January 13th, a few years after Rockstar acquired Cfx.re, the creators of roleplaying servers like FiveM and RedM. Now, Cfx Marketplace will allow trusted modders to sell their creations for money, allowing gamers easier access to fun mods along the way.

How much are GTA Online mods on Cfx Marketplace?

The amount you pay for a GTA Online mod varies significantly.

Quickly checking out the vehicle mods, the prices range from free to $19.99 a month. The free mod is a hard top version of the existing Dominator GT. The subscription gets you a full fleet of modded police and emergency vehicles and continuous updates.

The map mods range from free to $19.99. The free mod provides you with city-wide Christmas decorations while the three most expensive map mods include a luxury mansion, a police station to roleplay as an officer, and a late-night bar.

Some of the most expensive mods on the site so far include a one-time purchase of the police and emergency vehicle pack for $499.99, an activities bundle for $389.99 that includes bowling, bungee jumping, and more, and a business pack for $209.99 that allows you to run a tattoo shop, a gas station, a mechanic shop, and more.

With Rockstar only allowing verified modders onto the site, don’t expect anything cursed like the “We are Charlie Kirk” mission to infiltrate the storefront any time soon.

It’s unclear how this new GTA Online shop will fit in once Grand Theft Auto 6 is released (allegedly later this year). But then again, not much is known about Grand Theft Auto 6 at all at this point.
