With Hytale right around the corner, many are starting to seriously consider Hytale as their purchase of the month. The good news is that the game is relatively cheap, with Hytale’s box cost around $19.99 globally for the standard edition. That makes the game very affordable. In some instances, it seems like regional pricing is starting to factor into the game cost too.
How much is Hytale? Editions explained
At the time of writing, Hytale’s cost depends on what edition you buy, with the prices as follows:
- Standard: $19.99
- Supporter: $34.99
- Cursebreaker: $69.99
The editions simply contain different levels of cosmetic packs. Each one gets their own themed skin sets, along with different looks for exclusive capes. There’s also name reservation and some other pre-launch perks in there too. If you get a higher tier, you also get the previous tier items too. These editions will go away after early access concludes. So they are limited to a degree unless they are later added to the microtransaction store.
These prices are all in USD, and should factor in your local sales tax and, to some extent, some regional pricing where applicable. From reports, it seems that regional prices are largely targeting South America and Europe, with the Europeans on par with the US edition, but with taxes baked into the sale already. For areas like Argentina and Brazil, the game seems to have regional pricing, with the game reported to be around $11 for the base game, which is more in line with the intended cost of living for the local currency.
To check if regional pricing is in your region, simply visit the Hytale store and check what the price is. If it seems lower than the generic $19.99 for the standard edition, then it implies that the game is getting some form of regional pricing for the Hytale base game cost.
Note that the developers originally said they were working with a partner to reasonably price the game back in December. And since then, more countries have begun getting regional pricing. If yours is not yet factoring in the USD version of the game, then you may want to wait a few days before the game releases before locking in an overpriced version of the game for your local currency
