Kirby Air Riders is making critics confused and nauseous and I can’t wait

I’m starting to think Nintendo purposefully left the Nintendo Switch 2 empty and starved for games so delirious gamers would desperately clamor for Kirby Air Rider, a game where you basically attempt to finish a race while getting beaten up and battered by everything in your path and can’t seem to control the machine’s movement at all.

And it’s definitely worked. The demo reactions were full of confused and excited players who clearly were not familiar with the OG for the GameCube, questioning the absolute chaos and uselessness of the game.

The controls mean nothing.

The gameplay means nothing.

The outcome means nothing.

But you’ll definitely get a migraine trying to make sense of anything that happened.

Now critics are also experiencing the total mayhem and stupidity of Kirby Air Riders.

“You want a game that’s fast? That pinballs you around and gets to incomprehensible speeds? Go go go go go go. That’s Kirby Air Riders. It’s Mario Kart on 70 shots of espresso,” CNET’s reviewer wrote, noting that they didn’t understand City Trial at all.

Well, that’s the thing. There’s nothing to get.

Please understand: Kirby Air Riders is pointless, but that’s the beauty of it. Don’t try to make sense of it. Don’t try to master the controls. Don’t try to be good at it. Don’t try. Just play. Just City Trial. All night. Forever.

Yes, there’s a story mode. But just play City Trial. I’ve been waiting over 20 years for this.

When does Kirby Air Riders come out?

Kirby Air Riders officially comes out on November 20th, 2025, but you can start playing at midnight tonight! Well, I can’t because I got a physical copy.

I DON’T KNOW IF I CAN TAKE THE SUSPENSE. How will I go on without experiencing City Trial right at 12:01 AM?
