League of Legends could be down, depending where you live

The Europe West (EUW) servers appear to be down in League of Legends, causing mass chaos in the region. I mean, it’s 9:30 pm there, maybe it’s time to get a full night’s sleep for once. But if you planned to stay up all night grinding, this is definitely not ideal.

Unfortunately, a lot of gamers on the EUW servers started noticing they couldn’t get into any games a few hours ago. Some received this error: “Failed to receive Platform SIPT.”

EUW servers going down shouldn’t be news. It often seems that this is the region with the most server issues as of late. Said one sad gamer on Reddit: “Why is it always EUW and never some other server?”

How to fix “Failed to receive Platform SIPT” error on League of Legends

After an hour of struggling, Riot Games stated that it’s aware of the login fail issue and is working on a fix.

Meanwhile, I think EUW players may have to sit and wait. Or sleep.

Feeling desperate? You could the following:

  • Shut down your PC
  • Unplug your modem and router for 60 seconds
  • Restart them and turn your PC back on

If that doesn’t work, is there a wired connection you can try? Or try switching to a mobile hotspot. I sorta doubt this will be enjoyable for online gaming, but as I said, you are desperate if you get to this point.

There may also be updates for your network adapter. If so, start that process and see if that makes a difference. I guess you have nothing else to do if you’re still here.

Alright, let’s hope Riot has an update soon. It seems like just yesterday that servers previously went down… Oh, wait! C’mon Riot, we have incoming content to play.
