Train gacha Resonance Solstice gets it global summer event in November

It’s currently a murky grey, with wind literally batting against the windows here in Manchester, UK, right now. So what better time to write up that train and trading gacha game, Resonance Solstice, is having a summer event… in November!

The event originally had its moment at the right time on the Japanese servers. As the game’s global servers didn’t hit until last month, it seems the team behind Resonance Solstice is simply keeping it on schedule. Unlike other gacha events, this appears to be permanent.

It’s called Whupshout Island: And Then There Booms Summer, which comes with its own bounty of rewards to unlock with event tokens. The ones shown in the promotional materials included character Fran, as well as other items for use elsewhere in the game, like Laplace Protocol, Slab Shard, and Purchase Applications. There are, of course, new outfits for the characters.

Resonance Solstice wants you to play before the Summer fun

However, Gameduchy, the developer, has set some boundaries on when the event will unlock. Players who have finished Episode 3, mission 16, will be able to get straight into the event, but if you’re deciding to pick the game up now, make sure to barrel through it as fast as you can.

So what’s the event all about? Well, it seems to be adding some form of city management on top of the anime trading and train delivery game. Split into three defining points, players will have to construct the island’s facilities by completing various quests.

After this, it’s managing the island, including decorations and gathering materials in the main game to feed into your up and upcoming resort. There’s also some business management game being overlayed again, with players having to “devise unique marketing tactics to draw more tourists”.

Resonance Solstice has been quite well-received since landing last month. There’s an appreciation for the game for not defaulting to the typical gacha story of an amnesiac or leader who is then thrust into the end of the world. Seriously, do you know how many of these there are? I’d have to borrow some fingers and toes.
