Laufey comes to Fortnite, alongside a new Rock Band-like feature and Save the World

Laufey is coming to Fortnite Festival on April 16, 2026, as the Season 14 headliner. The Icelandic-Chinese jazz-pop singer takes over from Chappell Roan with two exclusive outfits and new karaoke features launching alongside the collaboration.

When does Laufey come to Fortnite?

Laufey arrives in Fortnite Festival Season 14 on Wednesday, April 16, 2026, launching with the 40.20 Fortnite update. The collaboration was announced over the weekend with a playful teaser featuring Laufey trying on outfits with Fortnite mascot Peely providing feedback.

The Laufey Fortnite collaboration includes two exclusive outfits. The White Dress Laufey Outfit will be available immediately for Fortnite Crew members through the Emberlight Music Pass, priced at 1,200 V-Bucks. The Golden Era Laufey Outfit serves as the final tier reward in the Music Pass.

A second Laufey skin will appear in the Item Shop for around 1,500-1,800 V-Bucks, with bundles expected to cost 2,500-3,200 V-Bucks. The Item Shop variant is expected to remain available for up to 30 days.

Players can also expect Laufey-themed instruments, emotes, back bling (including Mei Mei the Bunny), and Auras. Tracks confirmed for the game include “Madwoman,” “Lover Girl,” and “Tough Luck.”

Laufey recently released her third album ‘A Matter Of Time’ last year, with the deluxe ‘The Final Hour’ edition arriving on April 10, shortly before her Coachella debut.

A Rock Band like mode is on the way too

To celebrate the musical crossover, Fortnite is getting a sort of musical theme game mode too. The update introduces Mic Vocals, allowing players to sing along in real-time with any microphone that works on PC and console.

Pro Drums support is also coming, compatible with Rock Band 4 drum kits and other MIDI-compatible kits. Players will be able to hit actual drum pads and bass pedals for a more authentic experience. You can probably find these sorts of kits on eBay and stuff and plug them into your devices if you really want to try that out.

Other new features include the ability to walk around and shift positions freely in the Jam Ring while playing, and a new Quick Mix UI for swapping or shuffling tracks on the fly for instant mashups.

In other news, Fortnite Save the World also returns today with the Fortnite update too. So, there’s that tower defense mode to look forward to that ties into the live service of the game. It’s also trying to make Star Wars Battlefront game modes, too, with the creators’ update coming in May.

All of these efforts come to give Fortnite some hope for popular modes and an everlasting game. Epic Games recently had layoffs, sacking 1000 staffers due to declining revenue and other problems with Epic. Fortnite getting more popular collabs with skins might help steer it from the red, especially with new V-Buck price increases.
