No Online Wii Games For Third Party Developers At Launch

This article is over 18 years old and may contain outdated information

According to IGN, Nintendo will not be sending out Wi-Fi connection libraries to third party developers until early 2007.

As part of their report on Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam, IGN confirmed from multiple sources that Nintendo will not send developers the tools they need to make online games for the Wii until early 2007. This leaves Nintendo’s first-party games with exclusive access to the online space for the console’s launch.

Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam will support four player split-screen mode.
