NYCC: Escapist Meet Up and Riots

So an Escapist editor and two Escapist members walk into a bar…stop me if you’ve heard this already. Yes, this weekend things got a little crazy at Comic Con. This weekend I met two of our esteemed community members and winners of NYCC passes, Dan(Lvl 64 Klutz) and Bruce(bkd69). Both of them were at least as entertaining and friendly as their forum presences might suggest.

We met up at a bar not too far from the convention and indulged in some fine libations and even finer discussion regarding the The Escapist, game design, the surprising amount of Kingdom Hearts cosplayers, the potential use of the Wii weather channel as an alternative to RISK, the merits of the PSP, Mr. Mosquito and even the Gillian Michaels fitness game for the Wii. In short,it was everything you hoped an Escapist meet up might be and then some.

We ended the evening on the sweet notes of black current and raspberry lambics. A lambic, as Bruce informed us, is a spontaneously fermented beer made only in the Pajottenland region of Belgium. Whatever it was it tasted great, and I couldn’t have imagined a better end to a busy day at Comic Con. Thanks Bruce and Dan for being awesome representatives of our great community!
