Star Wars: Project Maverick EA Motive leak Sony PlayStation Europe

Star Wars: Project Maverick Listed on PlayStation Network

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Thanks to a listing on the European PlayStation Network, we now know that a new Star Wars video game is currently in development. Not much has been revealed about it as it hasn’t been officially announced, but we do have a logo for the game, which is called Star Wars: Project Maverick. The artwork features an Imperial Star Destroyer flying above what appears to be a volcanic planet, and a few X-wing starfighters can also be seen at the bottom of the image. Whether or not that means it will feature space battles remains to be seen, but it does suggest the game takes place sometime during the original trilogy of films.

The existence of Star Wars: Project Maverick was seemingly first noted by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier last month in an article about Electronic Arts canceling a spinoff title based upon the Star Wars: Battlefront series. He reported that the publisher currently has two Star Wars games in development. One is a sequel to last year’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order by the team at Respawn Entertainment, and the other was an unnamed title by EA Motive that was called a “smaller, more unusual project.” It appears Star Wars: Project Maverick was the latter title.

Not much else is known about the listing. However, it does appear to be the next Star Wars game to be released as a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order will take time to develop, and this is already getting listed on internal databases.
