The Path is an indie horror game that takes the tale of little red riding hood and restores it to its original sick weirdness. My review is here. Susan’s review is here. I suggest you only read until you find yourself wanting to play the game. Anything more than that will contaminate the experience with other people’s interpretations.

I want to point out that this is the first villanelle written about a video game. (That I know of.) It’s a challenging poetic form. (A lot harder than a sonnet, if you ask me.) You need not just rhyme and meter, but you need to repeat key phrases in a certain pattern. But it’s challenging in a good way and writing it helped knock loose some of my thoughts on the game.

Sorry about the downer comic, but this is where the game will take you.

Shamus Young is the guy behind this website, this book, this other webcomic, and this program.
