This Mod Lets You Play Dark Souls 3 in First Person

This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

You can check out Dark Souls 3 from a whole new perspective thanks to this first person mod.

If the only thing keeping you from playing Dark Souls 3 is the fact that you don’t like playing in third person, then this new mod is for you. Its premise is simple – it lets you play in first person. If the mod sounds familiar, that’s because Zulliethewitch, the modder behind it, created first person mods for both of the previous Dark Souls titles. It’s actually reminiscent of the King’s Field series, which was a first-person dungeon crawler developed by From Software in the mid-to-late 90s for the PlayStation and PS2.

As you can see in the video above, the mod looks pretty good. There are a few weird things about the animations, the most obvious of which is the lack of arms. That said, it still looks like it plays fairly well.

You can grab the mod here, with the usual warnings about mods (it might screw up your game, so be sure to back up your saves).
