Topical Tuesday: In-Game Death

Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2. I had the enemy in my sights. I waited for him to walk into my crosshairs, fingers ready to pull the trigger. And then from behind – my enemy’s teammate leaps into the air like a panther, knife coming straight down into my back. I am dead, and the enemy I “had in my sights” is gone. Seeing as this was the first time I had played CoD:MW2, I was aghast, but a part of me was also amazed. That was awesome.

Welcome to Topical Tuesday! Every week we ask the community a question related to our weekly magazine topic. Our goal is to begin an intelligent discussion based on a topic that’s uniquely relevant to us as gamers and nerds, and the industry we love. Opinions are welcome, but please justify your claim with support – such as quoting information from one of our featured articles – even if that requires a little research before posting. Please use examples to back up your opinion.

Many of you have probably had a moment like that in a multiplayer game – no matter what the genre – where the enemy so fantastically kicked your ass that you just had to pause, put down the controller, and say “Wow.” We want to hear about those moments.

Ladies and Gentlemen, to your keyboard and discuss!
