Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Revealed, Launches in September

This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information

As revealed during today’s February Nintendo Direct, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is officially in development at Monolith Soft, and it’s coming to Nintendo Switch in September 2022. The release window is only around half a year away, so it was nice to see such a meaty in-engine trailer to go with the announcement. There’s even a bit of gameplay thrown in the mix, though it mainly shows the game’s massive scale and incredible beasts.

Nintendo has provided a brief description about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to tide you over until it has more to share later this year:

A vast world awaits in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the next game in the acclaimed RPG series from developer MONOLITHSOFT. Players will step into the roles of protagonists Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the hostile nations of Keves and Agnus. Six characters hailing from those nations will take part in a grand tale with “life” as its central theme. Explore a new world that will connect the futures of both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, launching for Nintendo Switch in September 2022.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 came to Nintendo Switch in 2017, and a remastered edition of the first game followed in 2020. If everything goes according to plan, it will have been a five-year wait in-between all-new titles. See what the wait is bringing in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 trailer below.
