The first Neverwinter Nights 2 “Adventure Pack” expansion will be available exclusively via digital download later this year.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate will put players in possession of a powerful but cursed artifact linked to the Night Masks, an underworld organization in the city of Westgate. Players will be drawn into a city-wide struggle for power, forging alliances with the warring factions and ultimately uncovering a plot that threatens the city itself. Developed by Ossian Studios, the “Adventure Pack” will be similar to the premium modules available for the first Neverwinter Nights.
“Our premium module program for the original Neverwinter Nights was an enormous success due to the sheer amount of new, high-quality content we provided in each adventure,” said Atari’s Vice President of Product Development, Hudson Piehl. “With our new Adventure Packs, such as the upcoming Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate, we are evolving the premium module: Fans can expect higher production values, deep storylines and lengthy new campaigns they’ve come to associate with Neverwinter Nights.”
The add-on will feature a non-linear campaign with numerous side quests adding up to over 15 hours of gameplay. Also included will be three new companions, new and original music, monsters, thousands of lines of additional dialog, a new sewer tileset and more. Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate will be available in late fall 2007; no pricing information has been released.
