Like many other studios, Larian has had to shift development to a work-from-home model but expresses it has been successful with the change. The studio also said that more details about specific content will come as the release date gets closer but affirmed that the team is trying its best to commit to the early access window in August.

Balder’s Gate 3 was originally announced in June 2019 at E3 and is the follow-up to 1998’s Baldur’s Gate and 2000’s Baldur’s Gate II. While Larian is handling the third entry, the first two games were developed by BioWare. Baldur’s Gate 3 will include many modern features such as cooperative multiplayer and fully cinematic dialogue.

Larian Studios provided a brand new trailer today showing off the game, and its graphics definitely look like the franchise has been brought up to modern standards. The gameplay will be turn-based and faithful to the 5th edition of Dungeons & Dragons.

Currently, Baldur’s Gate 3 will arrive in early access on Steam and Google Stadia. Whether or not the game will come to any more platforms has yet to be announced.
