Nintendo released figures for their recently launched rework of the DS-the DS Lite. The handheld hit European stores on June 23rd. Within ten days, 200,000 units were sold.
The quote from European Marketing Director, Laurent Fisher, focuses on the non-gamers who bought the console. During the launch: “retailers across Europe said that they had never seen such a vast array of different people buying the product, everyone from business men to young women to grandfathers!”
It should be further noted that when the DS Lite launched in America this time last month, it sold more than 136,000 units. Nintendo is particularly proud that this number was reached in two days.
