Dead Space Remake Release Date Set for January 2023

Publisher EA and developer Motive Studios have announced a January 27, 2023 release date for the Dead Space remake on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC. This news coincides with a new “Crafting the Tension” art developer livestream that just occurred. The stream delved into how added props and dynamic, volumetric lighting with atmospheric and environmental VFX rendered in full HDR will bring the settings of the original game to life in a way that was not possible before. The game is being developed with Frostbite Engine.

If you have about 70 minutes to spare, you can watch the full art developer stream below, or you can just take solace in the knowledge that the Dead Space remake has set its final 2023 release date.

ā€œDeveloping this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as weā€™re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves,ā€ said Dead Space senior producer Phillippe Ducharme. ā€œItā€™s been equally exciting to see players’ reactions as weā€™re taking them on this development journey with us. Weā€™re making great progress on our road to hitting Alpha and weā€™re happy to announce that the game will be launching in January next year. We canā€™t wait for players, both old and new, to see how we’ve elevated the original experience in the remake to be just as impactful for this generation.ā€
