At its 10th anniversary event, THQ Nordic revealed Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed, an enhanced remake of the original world-ending sequel, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X | S to release sometime in 2022. Just as with the trailer for the first remake, the Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed announcement trailer has a healthy dose of Rammstein, too.

While the next remake in the series will skip PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it sounds like Black Forest and THQ Nordic have their reasons for leaving the past behind. Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed is aimed to be the version of the sequel that fans always dreamed of, with the studio promising more populated, diverse cities and more interactions with the environments during a recent press event. Another major change will be visible when demolishing buildings, which now crumble, break apart, and can even be affected by spreading fires. The arsenal you know and love is back, too, with some guns, such as the Dislocator, drastically updated to allow for easier aiming and smoother gameplay in general.

Improved cut scenes are coming in the remake as well, but don’t worry, as a lot of the good things about the original are staying the same. For example, Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed brings back split-screen co-op, so you and a friend can still romp through your favorite classic Earthly locations. You can take a look at new gameplay quirks, enhanced visuals, and more of what’s to come in the gameplay trailer.

Twitter users who follow PlayStation might be feeling a bit of déjà vu following today’s announcement, as the company briefly leaked a Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed trailer earlier this week. Even then, the announcement should come as no surprise, considering THQ Nordic has been teasing more from the sandbox franchise for quite some time. Also, according to a recent leak, it’s possible that we’ll see a Destroy All Humans! 3 sometime in the future. While we wait for more news from THQ Nordic and Black Forest, check out the Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed screenshots below.
