Doom Receives Deli Meat Remake

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s sort of like Lady Gaga’s meat dress, only weirder. And more disgusting.

There have been a number of tributes to Doom over the years, but I’m pretty sure there’s never been one quite like this. That’s because some enterprising videographers have crafted a stop-motion recreation of the game using raw deli meat.

Of the four segments (two paying homage to Street Fighter, one to classic racing games like OutRun, one to Doom), three are actually pretty cute and clever. The Doom bit, however, is more than a little gross mainly because raw meat never really looks all that appealing.

The movie was made by GnamSpot, an independent filmmaking group out of Italy that achieved notoriety last year when it chronicled the history of videogames with sauerkraut. It seems safe to assume that the team will be providing more clever (and nauseating) videos for gamers in the future.
