FEBRUARY 23, 2004 –
Dante leaps from the video game screen and onto the comic pages of Dreamwave’s new series, DEVIL MAY CRY. In this issue, Book One: Evil Woman, Trish gets the lowdown on the enigmatic Dante as we watch the half demon, half human gun-for-hire do what he does best – but is it enough when this mercenary with a mouth goes blow-for-blow against the demon lord known as Phantom?
Issue #1 will feature a Pat Lee cover as well as a CG cover for gamers. Along with that , are Pat’s guest artists, Michael Turner and Jae Lee. Brad Mick writes Devil May Cry with art by Pat Lee and his team of Doe,Thierry Doizon, Linda Bergvist and Eddie Garcia .
The Devil May Cry series has been rescheduled to launch in March 2004, with issues to follow monthly.
Pat Lee, penciller of DMC and president of Dreamwave, recently suffered an appendectomy which has put him in a position to postpone some of his current projects. While sick, Pat has tried his very best to finish the series while working on DC’s Batman/Superman, but now he is back in full health and ready to pump out the highly anticipated DMC series.
“A lot has happened to me in the past months, and being in the hospital has sort of put a handicap on my work. But I am back and in full strength now, and I can assure, Devil May Cry is going to be all that we’ve promised it would be.” Pat, always positive and hard-working explains, “I just want to say thanks to the fans and my team at Dreamwave, for their support, and especially their patience with me. This means a lot, and I promise this to be the best comic ever from Dreamwave’s Capcom line!”
“I can’t believe how much of a fighter Pat is, a true inspiration! He was drawing while he was in the hospital, so you will definitely see this passion in his work for DMC.” says Candice Chan, PR Manager at Dreamwave.
