DuckTales Remastered Trailers Detail Transylvania, Amazon

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Two new trailers have appeared for the upcoming DuckTales Remastered, with a focus on the game’s Transylvania and Amazon stages.

Capcom’s 1989 videogame adaptation of Disney’s DuckTales cartoon series is revered among both fans and critics, and rightfully so. It’s not just a solid translation of the Disney cartoon, it’s also a legitimately excellent platforming adventure, on par with some of the best Nintendo titles. This is reason number one why the upcoming WayForward-developed DuckTales Remastered is so exciting. What’s reason number 2? Attention to detail.

As you can see in the two clips embedded in this article (one at top-right, one below), DuckTales Remastered is a nostalgia blast for anyone who can still remember the layouts of stages in its predecessor. Granted, the aesthetics have been cleaned up and everything is in much high-definition than it was previously, but that Transylvania stage seen above is a fantastic homage to its inspiration, complete with those magic mirrors that stymied me as a child. The Amazon level seems less exciting owing to its original design, but as far as being faithful to its source material, that trailer too is worth your time.

I’m not quite as sold on the Launchpad McQuack voiceover work, but I also don’t know how prevalent that will be in the final game. Taken as a whole, everything here is very exciting and I can’t wait to play DuckTales Remastered once its hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC later this year.
