EA Anticipates Wii Price Around $170 US

In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, Electronic Arts executive VP David Gardner claims that the Nintendo Wii price will be roughly $170 US in Japan.

Gamesindustry.biz has posted a brief quote from David Gardner in regards to the Wii price in Japan. “I’ve heard in Japan that the price is about $170, but I don’t know if the price has been set in Europe yet,” he said. This figure rests right in the middle of the rumored $150 to $200 US price point that analysts have anticipated.

He went on to discuss the Wii’s place in the market, noting that, “Nintendo has come up with a very clever strategy, they’ve made a choice which is great for the consumer. Now we’re going to have a choice whereby consumers can buy a Wii plus one other console.”
