Famicom Dojo Will Teach You About the Famicom

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

If you’re curious about the Famicom, this web show might be for you.

Did you know that Famicom controllers had a built in microphone? Or that attempting to use the NES’s AC adapter with a Famicom will result in disaster? Or that you could actually save over Famicom Disk System games?

I didn’t, but now I do thanks to Famicom Dojo, a web show that goes into the nitty gritty of the Famicom with a little humor thrown in to lighten things up. Don’t give up if the humor is not your cup of tea, there is some great information about the NES’s Japanese older brother, and Famicom-related peripherals, throughout each of the first season’s six episodes, all of which can be watched online.

And if you really like the series, a DVD featuring all six episodes, bonus features, and higher quality video and sound is available at http://www.famicomdojo.tv/. The first episode is below, though like any labor of love the episodes improve as they go along. If only all history lessons could be less than 10 minutes long and include talking video game consoles.
