Ghostbusters Fan Makes Amazing Wii Proton Pack

If you want to make your Ghostbusters: The Video Game experience as authentic as possible on the Wii, we have just the guy who you’re gonna call.

For a game based on a movie series, last year’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game was surprisingly competent. It would be easy to imagine that the experience would be more authentic on the Nintendo Wii despite the system’s lack of high-fidelity graphics – after all, who doesn’t want to pretend their Wii Remote is one of the Ghostbusters’ trademark proton packs?

Well, one Ghostbusters fan got tired of pretending. One Ghostbusters fan decided that he wanted to play the game with a real proton pack (well, as real as one gets). And that one Ghostbusters fan made himself something that was completely f*cking awesome.

As seen on the Ghostbusters Fans forum, the Wii-Proton Pack is easily one of the coolest Wii accessories we’ve seen yet (and we have seen many, many Wii accessories). The Thrower, “carefully designed in regards to ergonomics and function,” has slots for both the Wii Remote and the Nunchuck, and makes authentic Ghostbusters sounds when used.

Not only is the whole thing aesthetically nifty, with its stark white color scheme and blue LEDs matching the Wii’s colors, it’s functional, too: The four LEDs on the back indicate which player is active at the moment, and the power gauge will also reflect the remaining battery life in the Wii Remote itself.

Unfortunately, this is a custom job and is unlikely to be featured in stores anytime soon. But that doesn’t make it any less badass, now does it?

Dr. Egon Spengler would be proud.
