Google Acquires Adscape

Google acquires in-game advertiser Adscape Media.

Technology news site RedHerring revealed that Google purchased in-game advertising agency Adscape Media for $23 million. Adscape executives will remain at their Adscape offices until March when high-level staffers are expected to move to the Googleplex in Mountain View, California.

Unnamed sources within the in-game advertising business don’t expect Google to land any major deals in the near future. One anonymous person told RedHerring, “There is a whole world of difference between the form of advertising done by Google and Madison Avenue. While everyone appreciates the dollars Google can throw around, when it comes to [in-game ad] experience they just don’t have it.”
