Hostage Negotiation, Max Payne Style: Guns and Explosions

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

The Max Payne 3 Hostage Negotiation multiplayer DLC pack will arrive later this fall.

Remember the roller coaster ride of emotions you felt during Max Payne 3, as Max awoke from his long sleep of addiction and despair to embrace the cold, futile rage of vengeance? Having witnessed the depravity of both the high and the low life of Sao Paulo through the eyes of one of gaming’s most tragically broken characters, you can now toss all that out the window and get ready for the serious business of shooting a bunch of guys on the internet.

The Max Payne 3 Hostage Negotiation Pack won’t include any actual negotiating as far as I can tell, but it will come with four multiplayer maps lifted from the game and optimized for online action. The “Club Moderno” and “Estadio Do Galatians” will see players blast it out in the midst of an exclusive nightclub and the city’s most famous soccer stadium, while “Favela Heights” and the “O Palacio Strip Club” show off a decidedly seedier side of life in Brazil.

The DLC pack will also add the Filhos De Ogum “avatar faction,” the M24 sniper rifle and IA2 assault rifle, the Explosive Burst booby trap, the Bomb Suit to protect against explosive damage and the Intimidation Mask, which will inflict slower reload times on your enemies.

The Hostage Negotiation Pack will sell for 800 Microsoft points on the Xbox 360 or $9.99 on the PlayStation 3 and PC. No release date has been set beyond “later this fall” but since it was apparently supposed to be out already, Rockstar is offering a make-up later this week in the form of a new chrome weapon bonus that will be free to all Social Club Members.
