Inglourious Plummers: A Plummer’s Work is Never Done

This article is over 15 years old and may contain outdated information

What do you get when you mix equal parts Quentin Tarantino, Shigeru Miyamoto and gamers with a little too much time on their hands? Inglourious Plummers!

Opening this weekend, Inglourious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino’s alternate-history tale of a small force of American Jews sent behind enemy lines to kill Nazis, is probably already familiar to movie fans. But did you know that at another time and in another place, a different but very similar battle raged as a rag-tag band of plummers was dropped into World 1-1 to wage a campaign of terror against the evil forces of the Goombas?

Produced by Gamervision, the Inglourious Plummers video is a near shot-by-shot translation of the theatrical trailer for Inglourious Basterds, featuring a mix of live-action video and gameplay footage, with a cameo appearance by Bowser as Der Fuhrer. It’s a great bit of work and the end result is arguably more interesting than the original.

There’s not much more to say about this, so enjoy!
