LittleBigPlanet Rolls Into Alpha Stage

Media Molecule has pushed LittleBigPlanet to the next development stage.

English studio Media Molecule updated its blog for the first time in months to remind the world that development on LittleBigPlanet, the PlayStation 3 do-it-yourself platformer creator, is edging toward the Alpha stage.

While working on the project, members of the team keep themselves occupied by writing, drawing and even developing their own side games, such as Victor’s action side-scrolling shooter title Blacklist, which he plans to distribute for free as part of Dead Toast Entertainment.

LittleBigPlanet, which won this year’s E3 Award for Best Original Title, is still on track for release this fall.

Media Molecule’s announcement reads:

Sorry for the lack of updates, but we’ve been having a hectic time here at Mm Towers. Having finally sobered up after the Surrey Business Awards we’ve been slaving away pushing LittleBigPlanet toward the Alpha stage of its development cycle. Basically this means all the cool stuff we said will be in there should be playable, even if it isn’t pretty enough to release. The game seems to change every day at the moment and it is very exciting to be able to sit down and play what feels more and more like a complete experience.
